Pokemn Topaz Character Generation 101 http://titanpad.com/ZXSuCJ7Cle
Feats: http://titanpad.com/XXKqy4dY2Q

Everybody knows this. It’s impossible to avoid. Even if, somehow, you don’t like it, there it is staring you right in the face. You can’t take a walk in the park without risking being divebombed by birds. You can’t go swimming without a sea serpent from popping in to say hi. Forests swarm with gigantic bugs and other animals. Sounds fun, right? Well... Putting it like that, it would sound downright terrifying, though it’s perfectly safe as you know. In fact, with capturing, it’s become downright fun.

And to think it all started with such a simple, buggy game. Still, nothing like that had ever been seen before which is probably why it was such a huge hit.

None of the original programmers ever thought this would catch on as it did. Sequels were unavoidable. More challenges, a day/night cycle, more content, bug fixes, the introduction of two new types to balance the game more, and so many short interface shortcuts and improvements.

The third generation made some us think we’d hit the end as well, but once again, the fans proved us wrong. It had even more content, abilities, vastly improved graphics contests, a more in depth look at the villainous teams... Two of them in fact with more and genuine motivations as opposed to just being evil for evil’s sake. Even the first 3d pokemon game with a story.

As time went on, we grew bolder. New features were added, more new pokemon were added, more challenges were implemented until finally, we knew that the limits of a handheld system couldn’t handle our vision. We dreamed of bringing the adventure to life. From 3d to holograms. At first, we had simple stationary emitters... Then we started to develop the mobile ones you know now.

Although the thing is... Even this isn’t enough. Which leads us to where we are now. With you. Randomly picked, but still highly skilled with the games. Well... You’re going to be the first to experience the world of pokemon in a whole new light. This is our most ambitious project yet. Even with all the advancements that have taken us this far... This project is going to make everything that came before look like Pong in comparison.
As you know, we’ve done a lot to bring our game to life. But it’s still just that; a game. We want to make the world of pokemon a reality. To that end, we’ve gathered you all here as beta testers for our newest and most ambitious work yet: Pokemon Reality! In just a few moments, you’ll be presented with a screen of all 5236 pokemon with any one available to choose from. Once you make your pick, step into the Immersion Booth to begin! We’ll be inputting you as the pokemon you choose since we’re not at the stage to start human interactions yet.

Rules
1) Respect the DMs (and the spoon)
2) Any pokemon is allowed. However, I’d prefer if you picked non legendary ones.
3) If you feel the need, you can make your own pokemon. This is subject to the DM’s discression.
4) If your pokemon can evolve, you can only use the first stage. So if you want to play as a Sceptile, you have to be a Treeko first then go through the evolutions.
5) No 4 move limit. If you can learn a move by your level, you know it.
6) We start at level 5 (pokemon wise. Use this calculator to determine your starting HP. http://www.psypokes.com/dex/stats.php DO NOT change the DVs or IVs.)
7) We have unlimited PP for pokemon moves not character creation (Ignore moves or abilities like Spite or Pressure. Trump Card starts out strong, but gets weaker the more its used in a single battle)
Cool Use http://www.4shared.com/office/LsGc5BA8/Mutants_And_Masterminds_-_2Nd_.html for CS building. We start at MnM level 4.
9) the game shall take place here: http://titanpad.com/wzPaaxgkOr

CS additions

1) As stated with rule 6, use http://www.psypokes.com/dex/stats.php to determine your HP and some other stats. Pick whichever nature best sums up your character. Leveling http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Experience

2) BE SURE TO CHECK THE SIZE OF YOUR POKEMON. If you're not sure, go here: http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/List_of_Pok%C3%A9mon_by_National_Pok%C3%A9dex_number or check the notes for your custom pokemon

3) You can have any one ability your pokemon can legally have in-game. Even the Hidden/Dream World abilities. Once you pick this, you CANNOT change it.

4) Write down your type weaknesses and resistinces somewhere on your sheet. And for your moves, add in what type they are in the powers list. You will not need to buy resistencies or immunities. These come default for whatever type your pokemon is. You will need skill points as well, feats as well. Custom ones to come.

5) Anyway, we ditched the attack vs defense part of the equation as too much work in determining varying attacks, and the toughness factor is iffy on how it would be applied. The Attack roll vs Defense stat could be that. Full damage if the roll beat the AC, decreasing in stages if it doesn't. 25% per 5points under the AC.
Moves that lower evasion would call for the miss hit factor, just a d100 roll, and moves that lower defense, raise attack, will affect the respective side of the dice roll.

My current attack:
Trae: AR: 11 /vs/ Leon Def.:14
Thundershock has a 100% accuracy, and Leon has no evasive boosts, so it's a hit.
Because the attack roll/power was below Leon's defensive capabilities, it's power is lowered by 25% from 7 to 5 points of damage.
If Leon had used something like smokescreen , Trae would add an accuracy check with a d100, the dc being what the accuracy was lowered to.

6) The Defense stat in pokemon is your Defense Bonus. You get a free +1 to defense for every 10 your pokemon has. For instance, a pokemon with 14 defense would have a free +1 defense bonus totaling to 11 defense before buying any additional modifiers. Ranged attacks, or Special attacks, must meet or exceed the Defense bonus to hit and possibly do damge.
6a) Toughness. If an attack meets or exceeds your toughness, it does full damage. If not, it only does half

7) you still need to buy your saves, skills, feats, and additional powers. For instence, ghosts can have intangability though they don't have to. Insubstantial costs 2 MnM PP for ghosts because of this.

Cool This is the damage formula
In addition, roll a d100. If the result is 6 or less, you do a critical hit.
(this constant * Base power + str/cha/int modifier for damage)*other modifiers [crit, weakness, resistance, STAB (1.5)]
See Constants below. [Format= level: Constant]
1: 0.05 // 2: 0.06 // 3: 0.06 // 4: 0.07 // 5: 0.08 // 6: 0.09 // 7: 0.10 // 8: 0.10 // 9: 0.11 // 10: 0.12// 11: 0.13 // 12: 0.14 // 13: 0.15// 14: 0.16
Constant = [2*lvl + 10]/250
So (this constant * Base power + str/cha/int modifier for damage)*other modifiers [crit, weakness, resistance] That way, the only rolling would be on the attack roll.
This way, you can calculate how much damage you will do when you get the move and at each level. So a level one tackle does 2 damage + modifier.
• 8.a) Non damaging moves shall be dealt with on a case by case basis.
Moves that implement stage changes will be treated as they are in game.
See the link below for the percents and multiply it out.
http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Stats#Stages

9) Skills will be reworked a little.

Removed Skills: Drive, Pilot, Computers

New Skills: Knowledge (Pokemon) : Covers identification, typing, moves, what pokerus is and does, egg groups, Shininess, EVs and IVs. Basically the pokemon metagame.

Finesse: This will apply later on in the game to moves you learn by a move tutor or TM. On a DC 12 check, you can use the move that was recently taught if the move is not very effective or does neutral damage to your typing. A Gengar with the move Thunder would need to roll a 12 or higher. The DC increases to 15 if you're weak to the new move's typing. For instance, a Dragonair that knows Ice beam. If you'd take quadruple damage for this move, the DC increases to 20. A dragonite with Ice Beam for instance.

If the move is the same type as you, the DC decreases to 10. A growlithe with Overheat would need to roll 10 or greater.
Use the contest stat (Cute, Beautiful, cool=Cha, Tough=Wis, Smart=Int) related to move in question to determine the stat used.
Overheat for instance falls under the "Beauty" stat which means Cha.
